I have an elderly 13 yr old Brittany who is incontinent of urine at times, mostly at night. Fearful of urine burns and excoriation to her skin. The hair is discolored. Is there a good shampoo that I should use, and how often can she be bathed. I often use the hose and rince her tail section with water. Any advice?

I wouldn't worry about bathing too frequently to get the urine off of the skin and the coat. Any mild shampoo will do. I've even used baby shampoo because I know it's gentle to the skin. You also might want to try rinsing her in the tub with warm water instead of hosing her off. Especially since she's elderly I would worry about the shock of being blasted with cold water! Brrr!
