If youre dog has caught some dirt to him, its but natural to give him a bath, preferably with dog shampoo. Yes, too much bathing will dry their skin but I dont think shampooing them every once in awhile is considered too much. Some shampoo their dogs once a week and I dont think that'll harm your dog much, just as long as you use the right type of shampoo and not human shampoos that may be too harsh on their skins.

if you find that you have to give your dog a bath too often and you are afraid of drying the skin out then buy linotone or linatone pluss. it is a suppliment that contain different fats and vitamins that will restore the dogs coat. it works real good and quick i started to see the results on my dogs within the first week.

You dog is 3 months old and getting muddy? Muddy or wet because of the melting snow?
Mud washs off with plain water- melting dirty snow should be taken care of with a towel.

I bathe my Aussie once every 2-3 weeks with oatmeal dog shampoo. And shower him with just water everytime he come home from the beach. He goes to the beach 4-5 times a week. His skin is fine and his coat is soft and shinny.

You can shampoo your dog once a week without hurting his/her skin. If your dog gets dirty in between, by all means, you can spray it with a shower massager or water in the tub. You wouldn't want to do this all of the time but sometimes will not hurt!

Between shampoos or in the winter time I use Rio Vista's Canine Shine...it's great for getting the matts and tangles out and give's my dogs coat a clean fresh smell. Check it out...
