Hello,

I have been reading alot on this here forum but have finaly signed up for it. Everyone sounds really nice. Here is a little about me.

I am from Michigan, and as of today I graduated from dog grooming school. something I have wanted to do for many years but never did. So...as of last May I lost my job, and thought now would be the perfect time to do it.....so I did. And 400 hours later...Here I am.

I am really looking forward to meeting new people and hope we can become good friends.

Hi... Nice to meet you (sort of). Maybe you could go to some dog shows in your area and talk to owners - see what the demand would be. You'll do fine as long as you work hard at it.

I have no idea how to go about posting pics on here. Can someone help me out with this? I will have lots of pics if I can learn how.

DaxAriel's toy...I have gone on a few "ride alongs" with two girls that have a grooming van. WOW!!! Is that thing awesome? But they are a long way away from where I live. But I do know that is what I want to do, but can't afford that kind of van just yet. What I was thinking was coming to the client’s house and do their pets. What do you think? Would any off you like that kind of service if available?

Well thanks for all you input. Hope to talk to you all soon. [Big Grin]

During this time of year, I would welcome a DOOR - TO DOOR CLIPPER even without the bath. Someone to do a clip, nail trim and brush out. The bath can always be done later but clips take a long time.

I am from South Bend, IN, near Notre Dame. I have never heard of where you are from, so I am guessing it's kind of far to travel just for a haircut [Smile] !

hello there, welcome to the family. We have a sister forum too www.horsegroomingsupplies.com if you also like horses, bit more lively over there! I like the laidback pace here though, everyone is really friendly and helpful. Easier to keep up.

I loved my grooming business fullthrotle, it was called Sophie's Dog Clipping. I had about 250 regular dogs. I used to do one a day, in the am, then I had all afternoon to clean house.
I worked from home, most of the dogs became my best buddies, all had different characters, quirks etc. Some would just sit, some not. I would always give cuddles so they got to know me, not just my clippers. I was also a good outlet to meet people and chat about dogs.
Don't be nervous, you will LOVE it.

Well I can say all you people are great! Thanks for the warm welcome. There is a chat room in doggroomer.com that I have been into the last few nights, they have also been very friendly and helpful. You all should check it out.
