Hello~

I'm very new to this, but I'm a concerned for my little Doxie. He is going to be 4 on the 14th of Jan. In the last 4 days he has been acting a little strange. He has been pooping in mine and my husband's room everyday for the last 4 days. BUT! Only once a day. It's pretty close to the same spot everyday. I even cleaned it with several types of cleaner. And last night I noticed that he had a few hives on his head. This usually happens when he gets his shots. So we kept a very close eye on him last night and today. The hives are gone, but he hit my room again. His attitude is great, still likes to play, run and go outside. It is very cool here, and this is ours first winter in our new house, which is much cooler than where we were before. The only other thing that we noticed is that he really wants to be held a little more... If anyone can give me ideas as to what to do or what is going on I would greatly appreciate it. I plan to call the Vet. 1st thing in the morning.

Thanks!

I don't have doxies, but a good friend of mine has had them for years. She says that they get very cold. Her present dog even sleeps at the bottom of the bed - UNDER THE COVERS! [Smile] It could be that your dog's getting a chill or something. That would explain why he wants to be held all the time, and why he doesn't want to spend the time outiside to poop.

Maybe he needs a blanket to curl up and warm up in. I never, ever, thought I'd hear myself say this, but he might need a coat when he goes outside to do his business. Another friend of mine got coats for his doxie mix, and she's not pooping in the house anymore.

Good luck!

Yeah, our dogs won't go outside in the cold unless they have their jackets on. They absolutely hate them, but they hate the cold worse.

bearsmom & Dawn~

Thank you both for you advice. It's funny that you both mention sweaters... I actually bought Oscar one last night, put it on him and went out with him. Today was the first time in a long time he went outside and not inside. So I think the problem was that he was too cold (well the vet said the same thing). Plus we haven't had rain in a few days. We have known from the beg. he didn't like to go outside in the rain.

So Again thank you very much.

Have a wonderful Holiday Season.
