Today I went to my local animal shelter to donate some dog food and ended up leaving with six 2 week old puppies whose mother had died this morning and they pups were going to be put to sleep at 1:30 today so anyways I am trying to bottle feed and I can't get them to suck on the bottle (it's a bottle i got from my vet) if anyone could give me some advice on feeding the pups I would really appeciate it thanks.

make sure you arent holding them on their backs to feed or they will get inhalation pneumonia. keep trying with the bottle - if necessary use a syringe or dropper to feed them. Also dont forget to stimulate them to defecate and urinate regularly or they may feel uncomfortable and not inclined to feed. At two weeks they still need to be artificially stimulated to go to the toilet. feed them with them on their bellies on a surface such as a table, hold them gently behind the shoulders or just in front of the shoulders for more control of their heads and use your other hand for the bottle.
Try gently opening their mouths and squirting a few drops onto their tongues so they know there is milk in the bottle. It will feel very different from their mom so its possible they just dont associate it with food yet.

Well I took the puppies not really knowing how to bottle feed but I know that if I didn't take them they would be put to sleep and i did'nt want that to happen......but they are starting to eat from the bottle and hopefully they will all make and i can find them good homes.

feed them small amounts but feed them often, every two hours should about do it. Its hard work taking on orphan pups - i hope they do ok and you find good homes for them.
