My dog is coming up on the end of her preg. her 65th day is March 18. She is HUGE I can not imagine she can go much longer! This is her 3rd litter and she has NEVER been this big. I have noticed she is having a hard time laying down, sitting, and last night and this morning was panting not alot but enough that I noticed(by the way she is a bull mastiff if that makes a difference) I have been taken her temp and she has been running right at 100. My concern is that she has no milk, no clear fluid, big sakes but thats it. How soon b4 labor should she have milk cuz I really do not know how much longer she can possibly go!!! [Frown]

I don't know, but best bet would be to call your vet!

Your dog is an old pro by now, being her 3rd litter, and so are you.
Don't worry so much, 63 days is the norm though not 65.
The milk normally comes in the teats in the week before pups are due.
Her panting could be from all the extra weight or the start of labour, make sure you have counted your days correct, (63) if she does go over I would contact your vet straight away, especially if she continues to pant.
Some will also refuse any food just prior, may have a bit of the runs, and vomit, depends on the individual dog.
If she has not got any milk it does not mean she won't have any when the pups come.

well she got milk yesterday which was her 66th day I did call the vet and he says she is fine which I am not so sure of but he is the expert right? He said that if she dosn't deliver by Monday I am to bring her up and he will give her a shot to bring on labor and if that don't work than I guess he'll give her a c-section [Frown] on Tuesday. But it'll be like her 70-71st day so I am just worried that is a long time not to mention she is so huge she is haven such a hard time even standing up. Yesterday she did have some drainage that was clear too. But temp is still runnin 100 and then goes down to 99.5 and back and forth so I don't know what to do except wait till Tuesday. [Frown]

Conrad, I'm sure she is fine really, you may have counted from the time she first mated, but I have a dog who has a funny season, she stood and mated, I counted the days, she constantly has phamtom pregnancys, so when the milk came but no pups I thought that was that, put her back with the other dogs, a week later, she was out there with a pup in her mouth trying to cover it with dirt, to hide it so she could have the next one. So I guess even though she mated, she did'nt conceive till further matings. I would still say, the days are out, not the dog, go back to your calander, if you wrote down the first day of heat, count from that. Ie: 12 days of heat, 4 for mating, should be due within 63 days, providing she follows the norm. heat cycle. Please let me know how you go.

Mayb u are right about the heat cycle thing cuz I know she stood 4 the male about a week longer than she shoulda cuz isn't the saying 7 coming 7 in and 7 going? Cuz she did stand for him for about 10-14 days so mayb her heat cycle isn't normal I don't know. I just worry cuz she is huge she can't even get back to her butt anymore lol I don't know how shes gonna get the puppies out! lol but this is her 3rd litter. thank for the words of encouragement I need them I guess I just worry 2 much! no such thing as seven coming seven in and seven out.
Its seven - ten coming and usually around ten in. The dog can ovulate at any time during the receptive period although its usually around the 14th -16th day that the most fertile matings take place.
