I have a German Shepard/Pit mix...He is a very healthy dog..The one problem he has is dry skin...Poor thing..I have taken him to the vet for it but no medication has helped..He even has a strip of missing hair on his chest...It seems where the skin is dry there is less hair maybe from him scratching..Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone knew of anything..I once heard that corn oil in dry food does good for the skin and coat..Has anyone ever heard of that?..Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Chicken fat or olive oil. If you can get him to eat a tablespoon a day there will be an improvement. Be sure that any products you use to wash him are designed for dogs. You could also try vitamin E oil caplets as they will go down like a pill.
