hi! my cocoa was diagnoesed to have high liver enzymes. I brought him to the vet for a blood test since he wasnt eating much and had a few vomiting bouts in the morning. Hes now shifted to hills diet l/d which I know is good for dogs suffering from weak liver. Anyways, has anyone had a dog like this and could one let me know what to expect from it. I'm worried to death about him since he's just 4months old and i love him so much! Also, he's started geting wary whenever I touch him, i dont know if he's suddenly scared of my hand or he might be feeling a bit sore. He's never cried due to any of my touches so I'm really confused. I never spanked him so could it be a reaction to this liver news. I can be babbling and just trying to put two and two together but any advice would be helpful. thanks!

I'm sorry I can't give you much advice but at least you know why he hasn't been eating much. I'm still going through the same thing with my dog. I am going to mention it to the vet tomorrow when he gets his shots. Your dog may be feeling sore. I don't see any other reason why he would be wary of you touching him. I hope he feels better!

Would anyone also know if having high liver enzymes is contagious to other dogs? My brother in law says liver problems are always contagious and I should not allow boozer (my pug) to play with cocoa much since he might contact it through his saliva or something (needless to say, i dont trust my bro's knowledge in dogs so just gotta ask it here lol). thanks!
