Mojo, I recently had insurance on my dog. I had it through www.petinsurance.com. It was $25.49/month. The insurance covered anything from a skin problem to a broken bone. There are different plans you can purchase. However, the more you use it the more your premium goes up the next year. I found it useful though. For example I had taken my dog for his shots and a few other things when I had this insurance last year (Of course you have to pay & submit a claim & then they give you your money back for whatever was covered). Anyway, the bill was 69$ or something and they gave it all back to me but 9$ so yes I found it was worth it. I hope this helps!

Before you sign up for anything - think about this. If you were to put the monthly premium in a bank account over the course of your dog's life (8 - 15 years) how much money would you have.
Most dogs lead generally healthy young lives but develop problems as they get older. I found that a lot of the treatments as they get older make matters worse and can prolong the suffering needlessly. The plan I looked at here was 59.00 per month and the deductibles were such that it wasn't worthwhile. Like anything insurance is only a pay off when something goes wrong. So hopefully you will never need it.

You have a good point doglover. I was very pleased with my petinsurance. My deductible was 25-50$. I can't remember. I found that I did not use it enough though because my dog is a relatively healthy 2 year old.
