Hello,
I have a 2 1/2 year old black lab, who seems to be urinating in her sleep. She has done it on her pillow, in her crate and any where else she falls asleep. What would cause this to happen? She is really well house trained when awake, but has a problem when she falls asleep. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated Thanks so much! Karlie ")

Is she overweight? Seem less active lately? My very well house broken dog peed in her bed but it was a sign of her tyroid problem.
My late german shepard had a reaction to meds.
You should probably have the vet check her.

She doesn't seem less active at all! She is full of energy and never stops moving. She is real thin right now, but we are working on putting some weight on her. I think I will contact the vet in the morning. Thanks for you advice! Karlie

This can actually be a clinical problem, so you are best to see your vet.

My lab urinates occassionally in his sleep. Not sure why he does it. He has no medical condition...he is in great health. I always believed that he is dreaming of being outside chasing whatever...and urinates while he thinks he is outside. It does not happen often, but occurs non the less. I would not worry about it to much. I am certain you vet will tell you he is fine.

definitely check with your vet just to make sure it is not something you have treat. If your vet does not find any clinical cause for this, then, hey, your dog could be having some heavy dreams!!! My dog does not pee in her sleep but it seems she has crazy nightmares every single night, she'll make the strangest sounds and even shake and jump in her sleep! Good luck!!

I would also say to see your vet...My dog urinated in his bed once but it was due to an allergic reaction to a medication he was on...Good luck with you pup
