Hey! I just brought home my new puppy today, and he was running around the house and saw my cat and he was too close to her and she scratched him in the eye and his eye is a little cloudy and his pupil is really small. He follows my finger still with that eye. I can't bring him to the vet right now they are all closed. Anything I can do to prevent him from going blind in that eye or to help it?
Thanks
Brittany

You can flush the eye with a salt solution, that is 1 tsp salt to 1 litre of luke warm water, cats nails unfortunately carry heaps of germs. Seek your vet asap.

I forgot, you don't need to use the whole litre, just a few flushes should do it, use an eyedropper if you have one.

Do what Ellirat said but get him to the vet asap...Cat scratches can be nasty

Bentley aside from the aforementioned risk of infection your vet will probably use a dye to check if the cornea is scratched. Its quick and simple. Hopefully its not, but its good to check.

Hope your pup gets well soon.

I took him to the vet Wednesday and Friday, the vet did use the dye for his eye and he was on medication. I took him back to the vet Friday to get it looked at again and they said his eye is healing nicely. Thanks for helping
