[Frown] Yesterday, I was play with my boxers when I noticed one had colapsed. I ran to him and removed him from the kennel. He was not breathing! [Frown] We worked with him and he revived and I rushed him to a vet. From the sound of it he had a heart attack. He passed away on the way home on my moms lap. [Frown] [Frown]

Beau was the second boxer that I had bought, the first was the female,Tasha, that he was never seperated from but only when she had a litter of 10 pups which he fathered. He was my buddy, I considered him my son. He would not obey any commands but he did not need to, he always done what it took to make his dad happy. When he done anything it was at full speed. He knew when to play. He knew when I needed loving from him. He knew when to protect. He would die for me. I would do the same for him. I would have given him my heart if I could have without ever second guessing my decision. Beau was 8 years old. I buried him with his favorite toy, a basketball that he busted within a few hours of giving it to him but he didn't care he could still play tug of war with it, it didn't need to bounce to make him happy.

Tasha is greiving to because she can't find him. She looks everywhere and barked and whined all night. She kept looking at my truck because that was where I had him till I could bury him. I don't even want to think of the loss she is experiencing having often shared the same box for 8 years.

I know alot of people would laugh but this 31 year old man has cried his eyes out over the past 24 hours over Beau passing away. Most of you know what I mean when I say he was not just a dog, Beau was my son!!! [Frown]

I am so very sorry for your and Tasha's loss, WVHILLBILLY. This is undoubtedly an extremely sorrowful time for you both...take comfort in each other.

And keep this thought in mind...

As long as there is someone to remember them, they can not be dead.

This is so sad, I have a lump in my throat, my heart goes out to you and Tasha, and no I don't think it is a laughing matter at all, I think you are one of too few who feel so strongly about their buddies.
Don't shed too many more tears, Take Tasha into your arms and don't let her go. Comfort each other in your time of loss.
Prayers to your boy Beau, May God keep him safe till you meet again.

My condolences to you at this time of loss. I know exactly how you feel. I know you don't want to think about this yet, but you might want to get Tasha a companion to help her (and you) ease the pain of the loss. Although, nothing will ever replace Beau.

It sounds like Beau had a good life. Again, my thoughts are with you.

I know there are no words that will make the pain go away, so, all I can say, because I am feeling this too strongly not to say anything, is what others from this sincere dog forum have said to you, take comfort in each other, until you and Beau meet again, I know he's there with you though. And, if I may say respectfully, getting another one at some point may help you to get used to your new life without your beloved one near you. I wish you all the best. My heart goes out to you!!!

I am so sorry for your loss.

For those who have lost a pet.

I stood by your bed last night
I came to have a peep
I could see that you were crying
you found it hard to sleep

I whined to you softly
as you brushed away a tear
It's " me" I haven't left you
I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here

I was close to you a breakfast
I watched you pour your tea
You were thinking of the many times
your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today
your arms were getting sore
I longed to take your parcels
I wish I could do more

I was with you at my grave today
you tend to it with such care
I want to reassure you
that I am not lying there

I walked with you towards the house
as you fumbled for the key
I gently put my paw on you
I smiled and said "its me"

You looked so very tired
you sank into a chair
I tried so hard to let you know
that I was standing there

Its possible for me
to be so near everyday
to say to you with certainty
" I never went away"

You sat there very quietly
then smiled like you knew
in the stillness of the evening
I was very close to you

The day is over
smile and you yawning
and say goodnight, god bless
I'll see you in the morning

And when the time is right for you
to cross the brief divide
I'll rush across to meet you
and we'll stand side by side

I have so many things to show you
there is so much for you to see
Be patient, live your journey out
then come home to be with me

Doglover,

Tasha has two of her pups(they are 7yrs old but they are still my pups) in the kennels adjacent to her. I got married and moved 50 miles away but my dogs still reside with my parents. I could not bare to take them away from their home. My Mom and Dad have been spending alot more time with Tasha and the pups, Amos and Bruno, so they won't greive so much.

I want to thank all of you for the kind words. they have helped greatly!

I have found confort in thinking of this. I lost my 30yr old sister 6 years ago to health problems which she suffered with all of her life. The Bible says "those who suffer the most on earth will be rewarded the most in heaven". She just got another reward!

Thank you all again,

Jerry

God bless you; my heart goes out to you. Rascal is only 1 year old; already I fear the day he won't be with me. I am so sorry for your pain.
