I got my puppie on Tuesday from local Humane Society and he was a lil tired he was fixed day prior . When he got home he got ahold of some other puppie food since then he has had nasty diareaha . It changes consistency from stream like to just pile of soft poop . Is there anything I can give him to help harden it ? I have tried to only give him his dry dog food from shelter .

It is most likely the change in food... once he is back to his regular diet, he should be fine!!

What kind of puppy do you have??

This is quite common when changing foods. If you want him on a different food - mix small amounts (1/4) to his old food - feed for three days and increase until you are feeding the new food.

You don't want to make the #2 solid by playing with the balance. Once he's back to his old food it should clear up within a couple of days anyway. Remeber that your puppy is stressed enough with a new home - new owners, etc. Take it easy on him/her and that will help them adjust faster.

I got a new puppy about 2 weeks ago. She has had "the runs" off and on. The vet told me it was stress and they tested the poo and found a parasite (coccidicios or something) in the stools. They gave me some meds to help her and told me to give her pedialyte to help the runs and if she is dehydrated. The parasites did not show up at the initial doc visit. I hope that helps.

If you switche food fast that accounts for it. Add some pumpkin, rice, and boiled chicken for now and slowly taking it out when the stool goes back to normal.
