Hello again,
Unfortunately I think Queso (1yr old) has kennel cough. I assume she got it from the little one (chips.) Chips had a runny nose earlier last week, but never coughed. I gave her bendryl and she hasn't had a problem since.
What I am wondering is...Queso is not "Coughing" but she is sniffling every once in a while. Do you think she is coughing without oopening her mouth?
The other unfortunate thing is I took my girls over to a friends house that has 2, 6 yr old dogs and they are now sniffling and one is coughing! I feel horrible. She is going to the vet tomorrow...and is going to call me ASAP. We have the same vet, but Queso wasn't coughing so he said allergies or upper respitory...eeek? Any ideas?

If your 1 yr old has been receiving her shots - it's unlikely to be kennel cough. Your vet would have caught it in the puppy and started treatment not systematic treatment of the symptoms.
I've gotten puppies from the shelter and had my older dogs start coughing a little - runny nose and weepy eyes and it was nothing. Symptoms - ps dogs can catch colds and react to pollen, smoke, etc. like the rest of us.
Watch for signs of fever, difficulty breathing, etc. otherwise take a week to see what develops. It's likely nothing. DO NOT GIVE medications without express vet's instructions to either - they are too young even at one year for home remedies, etc.

thanks for the info. I am waiting to hear back from my assistant to see what the vet told them. Her dogs are actually coughing. My little was is totally good, but the older is still sniffling here and there, but no coughing yet. SHe has perked up a lot too, but still a little drowsy.
I guess, I will just wait to hear back.

QUESO is fine - upper respitory infection...she has perked up big time...It was like she had a bug or something...not really sniffling anymore and playing with the Chips.
thanks everyone.
