i got my dog three years ago. ever since then she has been coughing Repeatedly for about ten min. whenever she gets excited [Confused]

what could be the problem? does anyone have any ideas or any tips to help her? she is a pretty old dog. i took her off someones hands when i found out that they where going to put her asleep [Frown]

Could be asthma, allergies, dust, even lung cancer. Is the dog overweight, inactive, etc. DOes it snore like a train coming thru the wall?

What does your vet say. He is a better resource than us because he can test for a variety of items.

If it's an old dog and only happens once in a while - why get worked up about it. It is increasing in length and frequency I would get it check out by my vet.
