Ok, I've guess dogs eat grass to help when they have digestional problems. My dog is now eating grass and very little of anything else. I fixed her up some ground beef and rice and she did gobble that up but refuses dog food and even turns her nose up at her favorite treats. WHat kind of vegtables does she need (and are safe) for her. I don't want her to get sick and I definatly want her to eat again.
Thanks,
Scott

Worm her, even if you just did it a month ago, worm her again. There are only a few vegies not safe, onions is one, and cabbage. otherwise you can give carrots, potatos (peeled & cooked), ripe tomatos, fruits etc. You will need a fully balanced dog food though, vegies won't cut it alone for a dog diet.

Roslynd loves carrots and cucumbers.... and watermelon is a favorite fruit!!! Grapes, and therefore raisins are NOT GOOD for dogs, though....
I agree with ellierat (she knows her stuff, let me tell ya what!! ) that you will need a well balanced dog food in addition to the veggies...

Thanks for the quick reply. The vet just wormed her Thursday (and a month ago) and then she started eating the grass. When we first found her we ran out to get some dog food for her. We fell for the "Well she's a puppy so puppy chow should be the food for a puppy". The vet knew it. I guess there's food coloring in it. He gave me some Eukanuba and said it was better for her. I tried to switch her over buy mixing 25% of it with her puppy chow and that's when she stopped eating. I fed her straight puppy chow yesterday morning and she didn't touch it. However I got home from work and after going outside to take care of business I fed her straight Puppy Chow again and she gobbled it up. So I guess it's all good. Does anybody know what food is like Puppy Chow but better for her. Or should I just let it go and write it off as the vet selling dog food? Also is lettuce ok? My dogs didn't like Eukanuba either and it smells fishy. Although my vet recommended it too and he doesn't sell it.
Why not see about getting sample paks and that way you can put down a bunch and see which will pass the taste test.
Hate to say it but my dogs prefer Walmart OLD ROY treats and ATRIUM dog food. The Atrium isn't top of the line but they LIKE IT, it's contents meet min. standards and was what the breeder feed Ariel. [ July 13, 2004, 06:29 AM: Message edited by: doglover ]

When we first got Molly, we went to our favorite doggy stoe, and they gave us quite a few different packets f food to see what she liked best. She had diarea with some food, other food she just didn't like. So now we have Innova. She isn't a big fan of it right now, though. Our kittens picky, so we have 5 differnt dishes out for her at all times..one with wet food, one with dry food, one with milk treat (specially made for kitties), and one with water. We spoil that cat, lol!
Try a lot of different foods and see what she likes.
