Hi, My name is Rob and I found your forum just doing a websearch for tips on training my dog and I was hoping maybe someone here could give me some advice...I don't know if it's a private forum so forgive me if I'm intruding.

I've got a 9 months old, 17 pound, Boston Terrier, who a complete sweetheart when it comes to being with people. She's friendly, lively, energetic and all around cute.

Recently we moved and since we've moved she's become increasingly agressive with other dogs at the dog park - she'll pretty much pick fights with other dogs, even ones bigger than her - and not just playing, real growling teeth snarling fights that we're forced to break up and then take her home.

Before we moved, we spent 2 months back home and she played with a 5 year old lab that pretty much let her play as rough as she wanted - we think she learned the behavior from this activity and is now translating it into the dog park where other dogs are not as receptive to it and it causes things to escalate...

I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get her to just play nice??? She used to all the time so I have confidence that she's capable of it.

Thanks in Advance,
-Rob

All dogs will play rough with dogs that they are familiar with. That's how they play. However not all dogs get along with others.

Maybe you should take her to a dog obedience class. There she will learn to listen to your commands. You know learn to sit, heel and stay.

Also a move takes some adjusting for our pets. Don't take off the leash yet. Keep her in your control.

Let us know how it's going.
