My dog buddy is a yellow lab. He's a great dog, besides one of his fallbacks. A 5 year old menace. We put him in the garage, in the daytime, instead of caging him. He got out of all the cages we bought for him. We put him in the garage because when we left him in the house, he tore up the sheet rock next to the door, to try to get out. Now in the garage he does the same thing. Bites the door handle, tares the sheetrock to bits, even the molding on the door isn't safe from him. I need help, I don't know why he does this, my family is considering giving him up because of his destructiveness. We all love him, but we just don't understand why he does this. Whatever we think will make it better just won't. Please help me ![[Frown]](frown.gif)

Hi Alesha.I know what your going through,my saluki's the same.He was a stray so we don't know his background although he was only a year old roughly when we had him.Billy get lots of excercise but still kills everything if we go out.He does the same as your lab, chews the door handle, etc. He's even chewed a concrete wall next to a door & kept going. We've tried letting him into his fave room whilst we're out, shutting him in the conservatory, shutting him in utility room, letting him roam the house,etc...nothings worked.I've had to buy a large cage (48x32x35) to shut him in.We'll build it up gradually so hopefully he might enjoy it in there.I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I just wanted to let you know your not alone. If you need to get a brand new cheap cage the same as mine try looking on www.ebay.co.uk mine only cost £45. I hope you can work things out and if you find a solution then pleeease email me jennifer@lang2081.fslife.co.uk

My dogs stay outside during the day. I don't leave anything outside that I don't want destroyed. But, Molly's only over a year and wants to chew everything.
I went out and bought an expensive car cover for my old car since I had to park it outside. Heck the boat has a tarp over it (cost 15 dollars). What does she chew . . . the expensive car cover. I could of killed her, but of course I didn't.
Why she chose to chew that particular cover still confuses me today. Maybe she knew it was mine (who knows) or maybe she liked or didn't like the smell, the look, whatever.
But the boat is still covered with the 20 dollar tarp and she has yet to touch it.
Be sure that your dog has plenty of chew toys available when you confined him. She has lots of things to keep her occupied when I'm not home.
When you come home, be sure to exercise your pup.
Good Luck
