I'm kind of scared because when they are pregnant when they are younger they are at high risk of death at child(puppy)birth. does anyone have any info. for me.

no dog should have puppies before eighteen months old, a pregnent six month old is VERY dangerous. I suggest you take her straight to the vet and get her sterilized as an emergency, they can still do this when she is in the very early stages of pregnancy so if you're quick you should catch it in time. whatever you do DONT let her have the pups, the pups would have almost no chance of survival and you would run a very high risk of losing the mother as well. there is another post on here somewhere about a very young dog being pregnant, i will bump it up for you so you can read what everyone said about that one.

depends on the size of your dog and your location. Over here its around £100 ($260 i think) definately a lot less than the costs you will encounter if she comes to term with the preganancy.

Most of the vets around here (at least all that I've spoken with) will not spay while the dog is pregnant. However you can have an abortion and then spay later. But that makes no sense to me, just 2 operations to go through instead of 1. Just so you'll know. If you can't find one to spay, ask about an abortion.

my dad will spay right up until the dog comes into milk. After that its too dangerous. He wont spay at the same time at doing a c. section though.

Wasn't it a bit irresponsible of you to let your dog get pregnant in the first place???

och ease up a little there ccm, even the most carefully watched dog can escape from a supposedly secure yard and get "caught" occasionally. Accidents happen.

I agree, plus the fact that at 6 months, most people are not expecting their pup to come into heat, and would probably not worry about them being in close company with an intact male. If the dog's outside, there is a good possibility that she wasn't even aware that she was in heat. I am sure that the dog's pregnancy was not intentional. She even stated that she was aware of the severity of the situation.
