My questions are about my almost 4 mo old pup. since she is very young and playful, she like to play bite. She does it pretty frequently, it doesn't really hurt, but I know I must stop the behavior. She does it to us and our other dog. I'm not too concerned about the dogs doing it to eachother though. Thus far we've said "No!" And quit petting her temporarily, And sometimes we'll yell "Ow!" She isn't really doing it any less, (and it has only been 1 wk.) IS there anything else someone can suggest? Also she sneaked out behind me the other day and got out in the front yard, we called her and she didn't come. I even squeeked her squeeky toy and that didn't work. Fortunately my husband caught her, but now i'm really afraid. She is a real velcro dog and is always right on my heels and is really fast. I'm afraid next time we won't be so lucky! Any suggestions for this problem ? Thanks!

Ahh yes what a good age, ya gonna love it, I have a 6 mo lab pup I kept from my last litter, and she is exactly the same, only thing for it, TRAINING and right now, (she no longer nips), have to stop it right from the word go, never never, let them nip, even if it is play, cause boy when they get them big teeth it really hurts on the bone. Ever heard of a sin bin, if he nips you make a big point of yelling NO, pick them up quite brusquely, not to hurt, and place them either outside or in an area on there own(sin bin)where they can't see you, and don't play for about 10 mins. Do this till no more nipping. Running away, you need to teach the come command, I use food rewards, do it where you feel she is safe, call her name and when she comes offer a tit bit,(cheese, cut meat, biscuits)and give lots of praise. good luck!!
