Help, I have two beagle sister that are 6 months old that have always been the best of friends, but when I came home from work today I found both of them growling at eachother covered in slobber with bite wounds. They were so aggrevated that their hair was standing up and I had to separate them for over an hour or they would start fighting again. They have only fought this bad two times before and it was over a treat. This time I was not there to pull them apart nor to see what caused their aggression. They get spayed in a month--could this help? Also, last night they got their first dose of Advantage--have you ever heard of Advantage causing irritable animals? Please Help--They always get along so well, this is the first time they actually hurt eachother. Thanks

siblings are all the same! its very common indeed for siblings to quarrel frequently. Its generally not recommended to keep litter mates together especially if they are the only dogs in the house. I suggest that if they do it again you seek professional help, or consider rehoming one and getting a new puppy as this will prevent the problem of the two of them struggling for dominance (which is the main problem with litter mates).

Yes Lou is right, if you are going to keep two dogs its recommended not to keep them from the same litter as this is the common problem of it.
Yes spaying will probably help a lot, but sometimes it won't cure it, the fighting between the females normally starts around the first heat cycles, you would have been better to have kept a m&f.
Advantage I would think would not cause this reaction, I have been using that for years, the only thing it does after applying is annoy them a while, mine rub themselves on anything after I have put it on, but they don't get aggressive.
I would think that while your not there, separate them or you could come home to something far worse.

Well, i would seek an perfession, and tell him/her whats going. I agree with both of you guys. You know how you known your friend for such a long long time, you two, start aruguing. Well your 2 puppies, may get tired of each other every once in a while. My friend and i fight if we spend too much time 2gether! lol! so maybe keep them sperated for a day or soo. See what i am saying?

I'd never heard that about litter mates before. Quite interesting really. My two dogs are litter mates, and they've never really had issues. Get jealous once in awhile, but that's it.
