Hello, this is my first post. I have come over here and read but not registered till now. I adoped/rescued a mixed breed possibly border collie from the pound last November. She is very timid and was possibly mistreated.
She has been great except for some extreme shyness timidness. She does fine at the dog park with other dogs except when she has had enough play time and they keep trying to play she will snarl. With my cat and kids she has been great.
Now for the problem. yesterday my daughters friends sister has downs syndrome and she went back to my room looking for casey...she reached for casey who was in her bed and casey snapped at her...she didn't make contact but barked/snapped. Then later on that night when my cat came near her bed she growled. All this was new to us, well this morning there was diarreah and vomit in the family room so obviously she was not feeling well. She has a sensitive stomache and my husband gave her a bone late saturday night possibly causing the stomach upset.
Should I worry about her around children? Is this normal behavior? Thanks...

Normal but not tolerable for a pup that doesn't feel good. If you know that she is feeling ill, keep external stimuli to a minimum to prevent this behavior. Keep an eye on her to make sure she is getting better. Thanks for opening your home to a dog that needs you.

Thanks...she has a sensitive stomach so she shouldn't get any table s*****...hopefully my husband has learned his lesson! She is almost 4 years old by the way. My 2 other dogs in my life have been happy go lucky so she is a little more of a challenge but she has always been sweet just real shy...hopefully she was just grouchy from not feeling well.
