Topic: Help! My dog has taken to peeing on my bed!

hey everyone!
i'm new, and we have a one year old rottweiller-beagle mix. she's totally housetrained, except in the last couple of months, she's taken to peeing on my bed (and specifically, on my down comforter!). she does it about once or twice a month, and it's the only place she does it. we keep the bedroom door shut when we're not home, but every once and a while she sneaks in when we're home and pees on the bed...
does anyone have any advice or ideas as to what to do??

There might be a strong scent on the comforter which she is attracted to. You could try a professinal strength deodererizer made for eliminating urine smells from your pet store. Personelly I would throw the comforter out. If she does it on the new one then I think it might be emotional. She might be showing others that you belong to her. Jealously over wife or girlfriend. Is that possible? If so, I would say she should never be allowed in your bedroom.

it gets professionally cleaned after every incident... and she's equally my baby and my fiancee's (maybe hers moreso...)
i ended up putting a gate on my bedroom door today.... she's locked out! ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Dominance. peeing on areas associated as the "owners territory" shows the dog may be developing a dominance problem. If you stop her in her tracks right now with some training designed to correct dominant behaviour the problem should stop.
