I have a three year old Sheltie who jumps on furniture whenever he wants. Since we lived alone, I didn't correct him (and probably should have).
Now we are moving in with someone and he needs to learn new manners. We are getting new furniture and I would like for him to stay off the furniture.
I know that going to a new place will be stresful and want to do everything possible to make a good transition for all of us. Any suggestions for re-training him would be appreciated.

Correct immediately with OFF when he tries to make himself comfortable and praise for floor choices. You can place alumnium foil over the cushions or mice traps covered with a newspaper to discourage him from getting on the furniture while you're not around.

If you are getting new furniture anyway, take a cushion from the couch he usually sits on and place it on the floor now before you move. Everytime he goes to jump up on the couch, say NO, point to the cushion and make him stay there.
That way he still gets his cushion, so it is not so hard for him to adjust.
P.S. Don't forget to take one or two of the old cushions with you to your new home.
