How do you teach a puppy "ok"? For instance, when the puppy "stays" sitting for awhile, how do we teach him that it is "ok" to move again? So far my puppy just looks at us confused and doesnt moves. Or is there another basic command for this?

When we trained Sophie our lab, what we did was use food treats (always the way to a labs heart and mind. LOL) First it was sit, then down, then stay, we placed some food a couple of feet away, everytime she got up to get the food, we took it away, repeated the above, when she finally stayed, we said the word ok, and pointed to the food, she automatically got up and ate it. Now I can go out of sight of her, she won't touch it till I say ok. It's also the expression in your voice, the tone in which you say the words.

my dogs sit until i say "off you go" Its quite easy to teach them a certain command means they can move again. Just encourage them to move as you give the command. it didnt take any of mine long to pick it up. Lou

Happy voice, treats, a butt rub, or simply pull them out of a sit and play with him.

if he is all set with sit and stay, okay will be an easy one for you. just say "okay", then give him a gentle pat on the side, and if needed, lift his toosh off the ground slightly and give him the treat. he'll get it, it's just like everything else... repetition!!!!
another fun thing would be to teach another word/phrase instead of okay... one of the cutest things i've seen was a friend's dog: put a treat in front of her and say "on credit" she'll wait and wait until you say "bought and paid for" LOL... so funny
Good Luck

Our word we use with Molly for this is "release". She's sooo good at it. I wasn't there when we taught it to her, though (my mum mainly goes to the training clases, I go when I can). It's the only command she really has down, lol! It is sooo hard to train puppies who don't really care about food or attention....she just wants to play with the ohter dogs :-P
