My puppy, right now, is nipping at people who walk by, and I'm getting really worried about it. I keep using my excuse that she's a puppy, and she actually has a command that she follows to tell her when she's playing to rough ("licks are good"), and it even works when we're not the ones being played with, but other people don't know the command, and no one can tell she's a puppy anymore, so they just don't understand. I'm going to have to start either keeping her inside all the time, or sitting right next to her every time she's outisde...I wish they're hurry up and build that fence
Do you have any advice on things to do to keep her from making people think she's bad? BTW, she doesn't respond to treats outside, she will not come when she's called outside (I tried to teach her, but she won't react to food or love, or even pay attention to me when I try). Nothing seems to help. Any advice on what would REALLY get her attention?

She is leashed out side? You could put her ona gentle leader so you can guide her face away and guide her back to you when you say come?

Does she have a fave squeaky toy? If so try using that. If that doesn't work then you may have to put a leash on her when she goes out on a "business trip"(lol) How much longer do they have on the fence? I wish you luck with your pup.

She is distracted from you outside, it's a big world out there, what better way to try things than to use her mouth, they have no hands. Try obedience school, she needs to socialize, she wants to socialize by the sounds of it. The best way to get her to come when distracted is to put a nice long rope on her collar, then when you call, if she doesn't come, reel her in, give a treat, praise etc. let her go, keep repeating, she will pick it up sooner or later. Teach her the command that everyone knows for nipping. NO!!

She is already in obediance class, she finsihed her last one and now needs to move on to her next one. I'll try what you guys suggest, thanks! She also normally responds to a stern voice, but only for a few seconds before she goes back to what she was doing (I swear she does it just to irritate us). She's also the strongest dog I've ever met, and she's still a puppy...Even mastiffs are easier to walk than this dog We have the gentle leaser thing that goes around her chest rather than her face, cause she hates the face one and everyone who passes by thinks it's a muzzle. Unfortunately, she chewed through it last week (I don't know WHO put it on the floor), so we have to get her a new one...*sigh*. We SHOULD have the fence by the end of the month. It'll be 30" high, but hopefully it wil contain her (she has no idea she can jump, and I've never ever seen her jump over anything).
Thanks!

Well, we've decided we'd rather invest a fortune in specialist behavior classes for her, rather than have her bite someone and be put to sleep. She just seems to be getting worse and worse.
