Hi, if you are a informed at all about small dogs please take the time to read this. I am looking for a small dog, low energy, that doesnt shed too much. She needs to be healthy and it is extremely importaint that it doesn't need a whole lot of exercise. NO TIME IN THE DAY< U KNOW WhAT I MEAN??? I was thinking maybe a pug... i think that would be good. If you know anything about pugs please respond. If you own one that would be even better! Thanks!! Tigresstk@rcn.com Email ME!!!

As far as shedding, poodles do not shed. However they do have a lot of energy.

Dogs shed. PUGS shed like mad. Puppies shed, pee, poop, chew, bark, and must be trained.

If you don't have time for walking and exercise, you might not have time for training etc that all puppies need either.

For now, maybe you might want to concentrate on doing research to determine what sort of puppy might suit you best when you have the time to train and exercise a puppy.

Until then, I'd suggest stuffed puppies. [Big Grin]

I agree with n2rotts. This may not be the time to get any pet if you don't have the time for it. Training is SOOOOO important! Every little thing you teach them will spill over into EVERY area of their and YOUR lives - just like kids! Also, we took our dog when we first got her to Puppy Preschool and the info really helped a great deal. Think about going for training with a professional when you do decide to pursue this.
Good luck!

I agree with the others. Even a dog that isn't high energy or high drive needs to have some exercise and all puppies take up your time. You have to come home and feed them and let them out they can't be home alone all day. The training is intense when they are puppies. It is important to imprint your puppy properly or it will take twice as much time to retrain them. If you don't have the time I would suggest getting a fish instead..

What ever you do, don't get a Min Pin. I've got one. She doesn't shed, but she's got lots of energy and needs excercise.

I suggest you don't get a dog if you do not have enough time to look after it and take it on walks. Although it is your decision. I would recommend a Smooth Fox Terrier. This is because his grooming status is undemanding and he is short haired. Also the fox terrier will take all the exercise offered but will not spend his time nagging his owner to fetch his lead.
