My Lab, Sully, still has an interest in grass and mud(previous topic) but now his curiosity has gone to the fridge. Understandably I can see why...FOOD...but when we try to nudge him gently while saying,"excuse me" he is still persistant in sticking his nose in there. All this aside, he is great with learning other commands like Come, Sit, and Down(as in lay down), so why the tough time with this? Anyone?

Does he know stay? This is basically what you're trying to teach him (well not exactly,) but try teaching him stay without the tempting fridge in front of him. Also when you're getting in the fridge, and he comes up, tell him to sit since he already knows that. With our dogs we teach them back. When we're coming in the door to keep them from running outside, we say back while placing something (such as a foot) in front of them to prevent them from coming forward.
