I had a queenland lab mix dog. His name was Scotty. This dog was my babe. I taught him to roll over, shake hands, jump through a hula hoop, leap and sit on a chair. I had so much fun with this dog. My friend Kathy used to call him my Circus Dog. Sadly I had to put him down last Oct. He was 11.

But keep working on the basics with your dog. All dogs need your time and refresher courses.

I'm teaching Mickey and Molly to be quiet. They can't run through the house like mad first thing in the morning. They have be quiet before they can come in. Be quiet because everyone is sleeping. Mickey's pretty good. He's had lots of practice. He'll go and sleep on the floor next my husband. Molly still needs work. She loves cat food and makes a mad dash to where I feed my cat Rusty. But, she's learning to sit and enter the house quietly before the dash.

Keep training.

You can teach your dog many things. If you still haven't taught your dog the basic things then I suggest you should. There are also many fun tricks that you can teach your dog. For example, there is a way to teach your dog to **** you when you say kiss. Some other tricks are: dance, fetch, high five and jumping through a hoop.

Well he does know the basics and a few tricks and odds and ends.Duke dances does a high five and jumps through a hoop but he doesnt like to because he is a little bit big.He refuses to fetch though oddly enough. He also knows things like go upstairs, godownstairs, sneaky(crawl),run into me because you cant stop on the wood floor, and stay with me.can I ask about training for hand signals? He knows sit,lay down, stay, sit up,stand, and come.I dont know what the hand signals would be for things like heel or wave or things like that.

I only use hand signals for sit, down, stay, come, dance...I think that's it, but you can just make up your own.

Sounds like Duke is doing fine. Yeah I use hand signals for sit, down, stay, up.

I'm so busy lately haven't had time to check in.

The more things you teach your dog, the easier they are to handle. I find tricks very exciting!
