I haven't used any flea collar on my dog before but they surely do work. Flea sprays also work, have you ever heard of flea combs? They sell them to but aren't as effective. The easiest things to use for fleas is collars or combs, I would rather use a collar than a comb because it works alot better. If you need any of those items then it might be worth checking out this page I found for you: http://www.petsmart.com/servlet/petsearch?species=1260&lookat=product&RowsPerPage=20&Product_Name_str1=flea+spray. Hopefully it will help. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Oh and I forgot to say, the prevention time varies on different items, I would say the collar lasts the longest, then the spray and finally the comb. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Spot-on treatments last a month (most effective.) Sprays last between one and two weeks (not as effective.) Most flea collars must be replaced at least once a month. Many pets have allergies and sensitivities to them. I don't recommend. Combs are for if your pet has fleas.

One summer my dogs were getting fleas and ticks so bad I went to the vet and got a pill that they took orally. It really helped alot. I was able to get the problem under control.
I think they took the pill once a month.
Also I think it was frontline that I used once.
It came in a little vival. I was applied between the shoulders. That really helped. That was applied once a month too.

It will depend on what brand you buy if it's effective or not. Personally, I would go with the frontline or another good brand of spot on.

Yes, don't go for the cheap tacky products, go for the more exspensive, it is worth it definately to get rid of fleas.
