Hi there
I am desperate ! I have a two year old dog, she is a mungrel, however last week she bit my neighbour, what happened was the front door was open and she ran out and my neighbour was fixing his car and she nipped him on the back of the leg ! thank fully he came and told me and said he just wanted me to be aware of it! which was very nice of him considering what she had done needless to say I was in very upset and all I could think about at first was Iwas going to have to have her put down, but after speaking to my friend who owns a dog,he said that I would have to put a muzel on and keep an eye on her which I have done, butjust wondered if anyone else has had this happen to them and what you did to rectify the problem, I hope you can understand that if I can save my dog I would do anything to make sure this dosent happen again,
Any helpful advice would be really greatfull !
Thank you Anne

My favorite dog bit the mailman. I really kept an eye on him at all times. I made sure that the door was locked. He was just very territorial. Did your neighbor go to the doctor. Do you have insurance.
Also, I was bitten by friends dogs, twice. Two different friends, two different dogs.
Once, the homeowners insurance paid for it and another I just went to the emergency room and my insurance paid for it.
Did the dog break the skin?
Good luck. Keep an eye on the dog. I kept my dog until he died. He didn't bite anyone ever again.
-------------------- I love cats too.

I understand what you're going through. I went through the same thing a couple months ago. My little angel Wilson got out the front door and attacked the neighbor's dog. Then about a month later he broke out the back door and attacked another dog. THEN another month later he bit the neighbor. We put him through training, and even worked one on one with a trainer - but it did no good. He was just extremely over-protective. To make a long story short - we felt it was best to have him put down. (he had also bitten 4 people in our house) It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I'm tearing up now - it still hurts to think about it.
Get your dog in to some serious training now. We overlooked the first couple bites - I wish we would have started training much earlier. Be very careful around the house - make sure there is no way for your dog to get out. Good luck - hopefully you will be able to get him some training to correct this problem.
