Hi, I'm new here. We are thinking to get a medium size ( can be large) short hair couch potato to join our family, any suggestion ?
I'm considering a wihippet, how about grey hound ?

I would say go for the greyhound. They can be couch potatos. But just like any dog - they do need regular exercise.

I live nearby a beach, so half an hour running mad in the beach is o.k. ?

yep a greyhound will love that - but bear in mind that they have a natural chasing instinct so their recall can be erm - variable. A long extending lead is probably preferable to free running in wide open spaces. But not to worry too much - recommended exercise for a greyhound is just two twenty minutes walks (on lead) per day which is absolutely nothing. (a really active dog like a collie should be getting a minimum 2 hours walking a day PLUS a lot of running about off lead)

You should contact a grehound rescue. I know someone that adopted a retired greyhound racer - and he is the sweetest dog. Plus the people who work with these dogs can tell you all the good and bad points.
