Thought I'd post some recipes. If anyone else has any, feel free to put them up.

Granola
3/4 cup honey
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups cracked wheat
2 1/2 cups rolled oats
2 cups bran flakes
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup chopped roasted soybeans (personally I'd leave that out considering the high potential allergy)

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Heat honey, oil, and vanilla in a saucepan
  • Pour over all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Mix thoroughly and spread on 2 greased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 15 min. or until nicely golden brown. Stir occasionally during baking to prevent overbrowning.
  • Cool and store in a sealed container.

1/2 cup skim milk
1 clove garlic, minced

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Combine flout, baking powder, and honey in a bowl. Add oil, egg, milk, and garlic, then stir until mixed thoroughly.
  • Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface and kneed.
  • Roll out to 1/2 inch thick, cut into 2 inch squares, and place on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, allow to cool on a rack then serve. Sotre in an airtight container.

I posted this one before, but I'll put it here too...These are great for older dogs that may have trouble chewing the hard buscuits. My dog doesn't have any troubles, but she loves them anyway [Smile]

Soft Dog Biscuits
2 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour
(you can substitute 1/2 cup flour with 1/2 cup of
oats)
2 tablespoons of Brewers Yeast
1-2 garlic Cloves (1 1/2 tbsp)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup of vegetable stock or beef stock

If recipe is dry slowly add more veggie or beef stock

For Basting:
1 egg beaten
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp ketcup
sprinkle with oatmeal (Sometimes I just use the egg & oatmeal)
Roll out, cookie cut and bake on cookie sheet for
approx. 10 minutes at 300 degrees
*Keep a good watch on them while they are baking as all ovens are different. Use within 2 weeks or refridgerate.
