Ok no picking on dalmatians I am on my 5th one and none of them have ever bitten or hurt any child. I believe with dalmatians and all other breeds the problem exist in the home. If you don't train them right or spend the time necessary for a certain breed they will end up a mess. I have never been bitten by any dog other than a cocker spaniel and a pit bull, but the pit bull I found out from the city I live in was trained for fighting and incidentally was put to sleep and now they are banned from being owned in our city, so there is my theory it's all in how you train them.

Amen! I have been bitten by many dogs while I use to groom. Never an "agressive" breed. And I hate using that word. I have been bitten by a poodle/pom mix, springer, lab, cocker, lhasa... and they have all had biting problems that started at home. Owners that would allow them to do this because they thought the dogs were playing or they played to agressive and then the dogs learned biting was okay and allowed them to get their way. Many thanks to you all that love the breeds that everyone else fears!

I agree - I think it all depends on the home. We play-fight with our huskies and they know very well not to bite... It is more like wrestling and playing tag - not fighting - but boy when you have a 50 pound husky coming after you down the hallway at full-speed sounding like a mad wolf - you would think your life was in danger - until she grabs you 'round the waist and licks your face!
