My shits zu puppy, cocoa, has this habit of liking her urine right after urinating. She will at first smell or probably taste a bit of her puddle then after go to one side of the room and start licking her urine off her. Is this normal? I'm a first timer so dont really know if I should just consider this normal. Thanks!

Maybe you could help out and point Ruth in the right direction, 301. I can't remember where this topic was posted before, or I'd do it.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it has been discussed before 301 but I'm just a new member here so I apologize for not having read this topic. In any case, I would appreciate it if someone would give me a tip on this. Just today, I noticed my pup chowing down a bit of his poop...all i really want to know is if this is normal or what I can do to stop him from doing it. thanks bearmom for your kind disposition.

It is "normal" but not really a good thing. It is often caused by a nutritional deficiency, or it can also be caused by the pup not getting enough food (which sort of ties into the nutritional deficiency.)
