Hi, I am new. Please help!
About 2 weeks ago we bought a yorkshire terrier puppy. She was ± 7 weeks at the time. She is absolutely gorgeous but does not seem to like it too much if we play or stroke her or pick her up. She only sits for a moment then she tries to get off. She likes to play by herself or with our older yorkie. She also seems overly aggressive for such a young puppy. She gets aggrevated when she struggles, e.g. to go up/down the stairs and then seems to go into a fit where she growls, snarls, bites and gets very aggressive. She seemed to stop when I pick her up, but lately she gets worse and it looks like she's snapping at me too. When she's in a mood like this you can't touch her because she goes off and tries to bite everything. She also attacks our older yorkie and I am afraid that if she behaves like this with other dogs they might not be as tolerant. Please help - we love her to bits already! ![[Frown]](frown.gif) [ February 05, 2004, 11:47 PM: Message edited by: Corne ]

Hi there! It is hard to tell without seeing her do this, but it does not seem normal, can you check with the breeder, nipping, chasing tails, and boundless energy would be expected and can be dealt with, but the growling, it could be play, especially as you have and older dog. Some dogs are born with a genetic problem, and can have fits and seizures just like us humans. You would be due for vaccinations, I would talk to your vet just to be on the safe side, no harm in asking. Hope it helps!! ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Thank you very much! We are giving lots of attention & "killing" her with love and she seems a bit better. We have also noticed that, although they play together, they are both jealous of our attention, so she mostly gets aggressive when she is jealous or when she is in a frightning or frustrating situation like when she wants to go down the stairs, etc.
