Hello! I just adopted a very sweet little chronic barker. I was thinking of buying a citronella anti-bark collar but was wondering what advise the board has for this.

Any thoughts, recommendations, etc.? The citronella ones I've looked at are really expensive but I'd like to do that option, if it's the most humane and effective.

IMO I think you should try some training first. If you willing to pay money for a collar like that why not pay for a trainer? [Cool]

I have a citronella collar. My dog barks ALOT. We just put the collar on, and she has learned that it sprays 'smelly stuff' in her face. Because she knows what it does, she no longer barks when its on.
Eventually we will have a similiar collar on and she will think its the spraying one. (But it wont be, and she will no longer bark.)
Hopefully I have made some sense-

Good luck
