some sort of collie cross for definate, my best guess at the other half would probably be corgi (those ears are quite distinctive). lovely little dog! Lou

i'm pretty sure he has some corgi in him. He may possibly even have some shepherd in him it looks like.

I have looked at your pics a few times, heres my thoughts for what its worth, he has the ears of a corgi, the face of a chihuahua, the colors of both, but his body is too large for either, any of the larger breeds would have found it hard to mate,(not that it doesnt happen, just unlikely), so his size, I have no idea, his fur is short and dense, so it wouldnt be malt, or shitzu, he has a white blaze across his back, one parent could even have been a xx mated to a xx somewhere.

face of a chihuahua? His face is exactly the shape of most of the working border collies i've met (check out the third pic on the list - that's a perfect border collie profile) - and he has typical collie markings. chihuahuas have much less nose than that and their face is much more "square". Collies can be short haired so as crazy_for_corgis has confirmed my suspicions on the corgi i would go for a 90% certain border collie/corgi cross. possibly with something else thrown in their for goos measure, those ears and that nose shape are really distinctive though. For the life of me, I cannot see border collie, the fur is nothing like one, the chihuahua i see is the high forehead and coloring, not the eyes. He could even have some jack russel, and the dense fur of the beagle, who knows, very cute dog and by the looks, very well loved!!!

Aside from the colouring, he looks almost exactly like a pup that was mostly chihuahua that used to be at the barn.

I see the corgi as well. I do not see the border collie at all though.

the fur is exactly like a short haired border collie - how you cant see the collie in that face as well is beyond me. As i said check out the third pic on the list. Am attempting to find a link. Lou

Border collie (very difficult to find a true side shot) http://rds.yahoo.com/S=96062883/K=border+collie/v=2/l=IVS/*-
Similar yes, but many breeds have that head shape. Of course, I can't think of any off the top of my head.
The dog doesn't have the typical chihuahua forhead, but that is often lost with crossbreeding. [ March 01, 2004, 01:42 PM: Message edited by: Dawn ]

The ears, set of the forehead, eyes, coloring.... all say dominant corgi mix to me. If you research the cattle dog ancestry in arriving at that breed you will find corgi there. So there could well be some BC features.... short haired and a lot of different colors in Border Collies.... not just the black/white of the Babe movie! From the pictures the legs are short as in corgis. The nose could be Australian cattle dog, border collie, both these have corgi in their make up. There is a wonderful resource for this information on this website: http://www.gis.net/~shepdog/BC_Museum/Permanent/BC_ColorTicked.html

I am willing to guess that the dog is a corgi/smooth haired collie X. these are the only 2 breeds that I believe match this dog so well. No offense or anything, but I just can't see the other breeds other ppl have listed.
