http://animal.discovery.com/guides/cats/behavior/intelligenceintro.html Go here it has an interesting article on intellect. I really say ITS OPINION cat lovers will say cats are smarter because they know they dont have to do what you say they only come when you are opening the catfood because they know it pleases them. Dog lovers say dogs because they are obediant and can learn many commands. I am a cat and dog lover which few ppl are and am open minded about the subject.

Yeh!! me too, I have a hymilayan x birman cat, he has personality plussss, and a black cat, who just ate my budgie the other day, not a smart thing for her to do, she is in the bad books.
But when it comes to understanding it has to be the dogs, I also have a horse, they are really smart, and a cockatiel who just tried to type. All animals have a certain amount of intelligence, I guess it's how we communicate with, teach and love them that brings out the best. Or worst.
