Just wondering how everyone feels about "chipping". This is something I am looking into.

I say do it. It is very helpful. They can locate your dog in a heart beat. It also has all his vet info in it if he is found or taked to a shelter. It is very beneficial! [Cool]

I would also say to do it. It is a good investment. If he were to get lost they would have no problem locating you. Its better than just leaving his collar on him because that could also fall off. Good Luck!!

Let me ask everyone out there - how there system works. About 5 years ago, they changed it here in Alberta from a one time fee when you bought the microchip to a monthly service charge.

I used to have it done all the time, but think this "monitoring" fee it stupid.

I also reside in Alberta but my 4 month old puppy was chipped in South Carolina, where I purchased her from her breeder. It cost me a one time fee of 60 dollars to get the breeder to chip her there. I wanted it done before Sheena flew here because we had invested so much in her.

Lets teach the public to spay and neuter pets and leave breeding up to the experts, to help decrease the thousands of animals destroyed monthly in shelters and pounds around the world.

Nicole - how will a chip registered in the US help you if she is picked up here by the Pound, or a stranger?
