I have a 4 month old Pomeraninan and I am just lost. I take Spud on his regular bathroom schedule. When I am busy I have both my lab and Spud locked up in their kennel. I feed them at 10 and 6pm. I take both of them outside afterwards. For some reason Spud keeps using the bathroom in his kennel after I take him to use the bathroom outside. I tried feeding him in his kennel to try to show him not to use the bathroom in there but that did not help. He just moved the bowl and use dit again. I tried shorting the space in the kennel..that did not help either. We give hima lot of attention. WHen he uses the bathroom he does not warn of that he has to use it like the lab(4months old) he uses it then barks. DOes anybody have any advice on how to stop this behaviour? [Confused]

Put simply, a dogs gotta go, when a dogs gotta go.
Little dog, little stomach, big dog, big stomach.
Your little dog hasn't got the intelligence to think, hey!! I'll be naughty and poo here. (Unless it's a male/female marking territory thing). If you are feeding at 6p.m. I would let a 4 month old out as late as 10p.m.
When he was little you probably fed less more often, now you might be feeding more, less often, if you want to overcome it, and are not at work, (time factor here) feed earlier, say 4pm and let out latest at 8pm. It all takes time, your little one has just started to get full bladder/bowel control.
Don't be too hard on yourself or him/her, at 6-7 months the puppy will be all gone forever, it's just a small step backwards in an ever growing forwards world.

I love my labs.
