We've had our puppy for probably about 2.5 weeks, now. Her name is Molly, and we *think* she's a border collie/lab/pit bull mix. She was born on Christmas eve last year, so is almost 4 months old. Within the time we've had her, we've already completely potty-trained her, thank goodness. She chews a ton, but hey, she's a puppy [Smile] She is crate trained, but is only in her crate when we're gone or she's sleeping (when we're home she's always out with us). Her favorite toy is a towel.

But anyways, the vet says she will probably be about 30 lbs when she's full grown (he thinks her growth may have been stunted in the kennel). So, I'd like to know what kind of bed she'd be good with (right now when we're home she sleeps on a towel by the door, so she can see when her friends are outside). I really like the look of whicker baskets, but I'm afraid that since she is a puppy she'd destroy it. She completely sprawls whie she sleeps as well, but I know my other dog sprawls too, but prefers to have something to rest against (she has a flat bed, but she just leans against it). We'd either like something really simple and attractive like a basket, or something animal print (we can't resist).

But anyways...flat or with a back? Wicker or fabric? Round or square? What size?

Thanks!

While there are many attractive and pretty beds out there not all are suitable and really comfortable for your dog.
I prefer a bed that is raised off the ground and offers some support.
Off the ground prevents chills, and support stops them from getting elbow sores, you will notice this on yours as it gets older from laying on the ground, the fur rubs off the elbows and becomes calloused. I also believe the raised bed helps with arthritis and other joint problems.
The Bed: A large size frame bed with whatever cover you choose, there are many to choose from, hessian, lambswool, magnetized etc.

I love my labs.
