I would like to ask your advice about something that bothers me about the behavior of my 2½ year-old male English Toy Spaniel. Until a couple of months ago, I owned a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and the English Toy Spaniel that is currently with me. But sadly, the Corgi (named Zoe) passed away at 15 years old, and the English Toy Spaniel (named Twix), which was very attached to her, seems to be very sad ever since she died. I was thinking of buying a new puppy to fill the empty space in both our Heart (Both = Me and Twix). Im interested only in small dogs that dont require much exercise, because I live in an apartment. Im particularly interested in getting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel or another English toy spaniel.
Do you think this idea might work? What do you know about Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and their behavior? [ June 17, 2004, 09:05 AM: Message edited by: I.Like.Doggy.Odor ]

cavaliers are laid back sweet tempered dogs. They are good with kids and other dogs, and are affectionate. However they are prone to quite a few health problems, particularly heart related problems. They are also prone to obesity and do need quite a bit of exercise to keep the weight off (approx half hour twice a day is recommended, more if possible) and you need to watch what they eat, treats are generally off the menu. As long as they get their twice daily walks they are happy in an apartment and are easy to train. Lou
