Does anyone know what is the most expensive dog breed that is recognized by AKC? (Not including Champion bloodlines, etc.)

Thanks. If you know what dog breed is most expensive, please specify it's common price. (I ask this just of curiosity, if you were wondering.)

I don't know exact prices either, but dobermans are up there. And bulldogs are REALLY up there (I would have one if it were otherwise, lol). Those are my two guesses, I can find normal prices in a sec ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

This dog is listed as the rarest dog in America. It goes for $25,000.00 to none dog people & The best quality, suitable for showing and breeding, would cost three to five thousand dollars each.

Here's another one for you.... adopt a dog but don't get the dog. See this web site for some amazing shots which explain why this is a rare breed.
"If your thinking about owning a Canadian Eskimo Dog but are unable to actually care for or afford a CE dog, then inquire about our "Adopt a Canadian Eskimo Dog Program" prices start from $100.00 up to $7000.00 and include a signed limited edition print. The $7000.00 price reflects what it actually costs to take care of a Canadian Eskimo Dog through its entire life span."

PS I love picture #15...

Well, 3 - $5,000 per pup could be a good investment if you want to breed them. Check out their website - I believe I saw rescue portion. It might take a while but maybe you could find one that way.
Did you see the Eskimo pictures... TOO COOL!.

This one is listed as the rarest dog in the world. Price has to go up...
quote: Member of the family of *****n's which consist of the *****n Frise, Maltese, the Bolognese and the Havanese. These breeds were developed into separate breeds from common ancestry. Even though it is recognized as a French breed, the Lowchen have been known in both France and Spain. By the 1960's the popularity of the Lowchen had declined to such an extent that it was listed as the rarest dog in the world. Today the Lowchens number have improved.

I don't think either of the other dogs you mentioned are actually recognized by the AKC, but the Lowchen is. You think the behind is shaved, or actually grows like that? I always thought it looked pretty weird :-P

The American Eskimo Dog is a member of the Non-Sporting Group and was first registered by the AKC in 1993.
The Lowchen in 1995.
The Rhoedisan Ridgeback is registered but not the Thailand version.

I would bet that the most commonly expensive dog recognized by the AKC and that is typically expensive would be the Bull Dog.. I think this is so because they typically deliver smnall litters via c-sections..
they are of course not the rarest breed.. Id also add that an ottorhound is typically expensive and also rare.

Oh, yeah the american eskimo is registered...but not very rare, and are easily found in shelters. I thought you were talking about the canadian eskimo dog?

Is there a difference between Canadian & American Eskimo? PS Where do American Eskimo's live anyway?
I don't know if they are rare everywhere but not very common in Alberta. Cute shots with poplar bears.

Canadian Eskimo- American Eskimo-
American Eskimos live in many family homes across the lower 48. They're rather small, and veryloud, but make great pets. They love people, and as far as I can tell, don't mind other pets. One of my friends has one and she is wonderful, I love her to bits. They shed a TON though, long white hair covers everything. Otherwise a great dog ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

They're both spitzs with extremely simalar names. So I can understand why they'd be mixed up ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
