While everyone has their own thoughts and opinions it is really up to you what you decide to do in this situation.
You are the one that has paid the money.
You are the one in contact with the breeder.
Ring your vet back, confirm the possibilites of parvo and it's effects on your current dog, the new pup, and best time for travel.
THEN YOU DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT!!!!
We are not there, we don't have all the info, we are not vets, we are just people the same as you, with a bit more experience is all.
What we give is opinions, advise, and experience.
You don't have to heed everything said to you.

You welcome with the help, just check about the parvo, but I'm sure the live virus is the one that has to be brought in, if the pup died from a reaction to his vaccination, which I am thinking is doubtful now, unless the shot was given a day or so prior to shipping, he would have been given the dead virus, which allows his body to make antibodies against the virus. It is safer than giving the live virus.
The disease is quite a deadly one, but the pup would have had diarrehea, vomiting and blood. Death in the pup usually takes only 12-24hrs. The virus can be carried on your shoes, in other dogs poop etc.
If the breeder had an outbreak of it on his property, every pup he has would be at risk, it would be pure chaos for him.
Some pups do die from the vaccine, and some vaccinated dogs can still get the virus, but it is not common, just a 1%or 2% chance, unfortunately for that 1%or 2%.
Again your welcome with the help, and you can always pm me when you get another pup, if you want any one on one help.
Cheers Ellierat. [Big Grin]
