I was wandering how you all go about finding a good reputable breeder. Im looking to get an Alaskan Malamute......Ive been trying to contact local clubs with no luck, and have also tried the akc website with no luck. What else do yall use to find breeders?

Keep your eyes posted for some local or regional dog shows. If it is a conformation show you will have all breeds of dogs there. Most people that show love to talk about their dogs. They can easily set you on a path of a reputable breeder. Don't be shy. Every dog owner I know loves to boost about their kids.

Otherwise, I know some one here in WI that breeds Malamutes for comformation and mushing. I have no idea where you are. I met them through my local kennel club and a pet therapy program. They are wonderful breeders with health inspections and lifetime commitment.

Why don't you try looking at some rescues. There are always great dogs in rescues that are looking for forever homes.Don't go looking for breeders until after you have checked out some of the rescues.
