I have been throwing this idea around in my head since May, not sure which way I want to go about it. I would love to get a Chocolate Girl baby, but I'm not sure whether I would prefer to keep one of Ellie and Wally's puppies from next time, I want to show her and Wally. Wally will probably go pretty good, after showing my Jake I know what to look for in the breed. Or do I bring in a girl from outside, I would probably like to breed from her, but of course if she is from My two I can't use wally.

How about contacting another breeder for a switch?

I think I'd bring in one from outside to mate with Wally and maybe get a Stud muffin for Ellie while you're at it. Then you could also pick the best of the two litters. And Ellie's been looking for a date anyway, Hasn't she. The little tart.

Now the other part of the equasion, you know of my Hubby, we are on a timeline, so this puts me off, I would love to do it, do you think I would have the strength to carry on by myself with all of it, or should I just not get into it and leave things as they are, that is why I was quitting to begin with.

What about your son? Is he going off to school or will he be around to help.
It will give you something to take your mind off when the eventual finally happens. AS well Sophie is getting up there, it's nothing you need to make any decisions until the next litter from Ellie - she didn't get herself in a state again did she.
So 1/2 yr (maybe) before next heat cycle plus gestation plus 2 months before pups are ready to go. That's quite a stretch of time before you really need to decide.

Sounds like you have a serious decision to make, Ellie. It could be good for you, and I think you know what I mean, for you enjoy doing this and it would be something to kind of force you to get out and get away for home awhile. If you don't think you could handle it later, maby you should wait until you do feel better. You know we will all be supporting you so you want be alone. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Doglover, my son is off to uni, so he won't be around, but he doesn't help now as it is, the younger one will be here though. No Ellie is not in pup, I wasn't actually going to put her in on the next one either, I was going to wait till winter time in '05. The only thing I'm tossing up in my head is that I know Ellie, I know Wally, they have super temperaments, Ellie is too small to show, but Wally is just right, if I experiment with their puppy, maybe it won't reach the height standard, but if I bring in a pup, how can I guarantee it's temperament. Barbara...THANKS... you're too kind, don't worry I'm not in a hurry, have just been thinking about it, but if a pup comes along, like thrown my way, like I would really need my arm twisted, I would take it. LOL.

Are you still planning on showing Wally again? Maybe you can meet a nice girl and ask her parents to trade stud services for puppy. Or if the old boy is willing - a couple of nice girls.

If you got a little boy puppy.
You could raise him and mate with Ellie, or you could re-mate ellie and wallie and keep a little girl from that litter to mate with the boy.
You'd have some flexibility.

O.K. I have the other post running, it is everyone meet sally, look at the pics, you see the difference in the same litter right. O.K. I'm now gonna post a pic of these puppies at 7 weeks apx. The advantage of keeping in touch with the new owners, I can see for conformation whether it worked or not. So the plan is to breed my own stock, then show her, I am sick of showing other peoples dogs, I want my own, can you understand that? I love them to death, it's not that, it's the name thing. There you go, now Sally and Sasha could be anyone of them, can you pick them? I can't. I think I will go with keeping a pup out of Ellie and Wally next year, then if I want to breed I will put her out to a good male. That way I know for sure I will end up with one like Sasha. What do you all think????????

I think that sounds like a good idea! What happened to all of those pups? Did you sell them?

Yes, most were preordered, except the last chocky male, but I ended up giving him to that vet nurse, remember, that must of been fate I felt.

Ellierat - do they have to tie you up when the new owners come by. They would me. I couldn't bear to stop cuddling pups that cute let alone let anyone else take them home.
I would have 30 puppies running around. Good that I'm not a breeder.
