I really don't need a third dog right now. Not at all. But this dog just touched me. 7-9 year old surrendered due to moving neutered male named Luke. I would have to scrape up the money to neuter Jack and then an adoption fee. Tell me what you think

It is just that I have to neuter Jack first since the humane society won't let me adopt having a stud dog. Even though I volunteer there. Jack is only 1 year old so he is not of breeding age yet. He is of wonderful bloodlines, has great conformation for the english lines, will hopefully have an AKC CD and CGC and TDI title before the end of the year. I am not one to want to breed unwanted puppies but if Jack would produce beautiful pups that would have his temperment , conformation, and hunting skills... I just don't want to regret my decision to have neutered. But then again it would be giving a new dog a chance at a better life. But I am not sure what I would do with three dogs. I don't think my landlord would care at all, but 3 dogs, and 2 cats... that is a lot.

Only you know best what is right for you. That would be a tough decision. Three inside dogs is a lot to handle, especially the larger dogs.
Duke is a doll though, and he really looks a lot like your other Duke. Since you volunteer there you can spend some time with him, and that will also give you time to make a decision you won't regret.

I hope you have a huge house if you're going to have that many animals in it! Wow, that is alot! I'm sure the dog would probably love it at your house with others to play with. However, that is a decision only you can make. I think I'd have to stick with what I have already.

Gretajack I think you are probably grieving over the loss of Duke.. Think about this carefully, don't do it on impulse, I know some of our best friends come from impulse, that's how we got Ellie, but you need to consider the possibility that Duke may be found, then you will have 4.
How long has this dog got in the rescue shelter before being put down. Just wait a little, don't rush.
