ok, i guess it is only fair that i start first.. My name is as said Carrie Crowe i am 24 yrs old. I have 2 children Cheyann(2 1/2 yrs) and Rebecca (1 1/2 yrs). I have a husband named James (33). I have 2 dogs Angel is a rottie, chow, bluetick mix, she is around 6 mos old, and i have Freedom she is a full blood rottie she is about 5 mos old. I say about because with angel i talked to the owner, and they had absolutely NO CLUE as to when she was born.. and freedom i ran into her at the vets office when i took angel in for an emergency checkup. the wonderful couple i got freedom off of picked her and 4 others up off the side of the road, one of the puppies had been severely beaten, he had major head trauma and every rib was broken it is amazing that he lived as long as he did. i keep in contact with the couple i got freedom from on a regular basis. My husband is a regional truck driver, while i am a stay at home mom.i moved to arkansas about 6 months ago from illinois to work on a horse rescue which went bad. that right there sums alot of me up, what about you? please share a little about yourself.. i figured this is a good way of us getting to "know" each other. OK - my name is Amy - I've got 2 kids - Hunter - going to be 5 in Jan and Jacob 1 1/2. I'm 23 - but if you add the kids sometimes I feel a lot older than that. I'm married (it's been 6 mos - but we've been together for about 4 years). My husband and I both work full time at a cold storage facility (it's how we met). I pdon't get out a lot - so my kids, dogs and job are pretty much my life. How depressing is that! Now that the baby's getting older we're able to get out a little more though. Hmmm - I think that's about it. Oh - I'm job searching now. I'd like to work at one of the animal shelters thatt are nearby. I work in an office all day now - and my job just seems kind of meaningless. I'm good with dogs - and it's something I'd love to do - so I'm in the process of writing my resume and sending it out. Wish me luck!

I'm LoriAnn (but you probably guessed that) I'm thirty something. 2 boys, 12 & 8. I was married for 12 years, divorced for 2 & I'm marrying my ex again this coming Feb. I have 1 golden 9 mo. old, Abbey & when I marry I will also have a german shepherd, Major who is currently 5 mo. I left corporate America last year to become a dog groomer & have never looked back. I love my job now & have finally found what I want to be when I grow up!
Fullhouse, if you are looking for part time, I see (at least in my area)a lot of vets advertising for receptionists. Most I've seen also assist the vet occasionally, which makes the positions a little hard to fill. But the 2 receptionists I work with love their jobs!
Neat thread idea, Carriecrowe! [ December 30, 2003, 03:16 AM: Message edited by: LoriAnn ]

fullhouse: you and your husband met the same way me and my husband did, we met at work and i wouldnt have met him if i didnt listen to my grandfather(he is the only reason i went back to where i met jim at)..
loriann: i am glad you have figured out what you wanted to do when you grow up.. i want to run a horse therapy program for disabled kids, troublesome kids, or kids that have low self esteem. that is what i would love to do. i know alot of kids that i think horses would help out.
lou: i am a horse nut, i love horses more than about anything.. the only thing i love more is my family. i am looking into getting my first horse within the next couple years. i just now got into a position to own one. i would love to see pics of your horses and of scotland. i bet it is so beautiful over there. i want to go see ireland.
it is a pleasure to meet all of you so far, hopefully others will join us so we can get to know more about everyone else on this board.
oh i guess i should add, if you ever have any questions, dont hesitate to ask.

I'm Michelle and I live in Virginia. I will be getting married in Ocotber 2004 to my fiance Hunter. We recently bought a house together and I brought my 3yr old rottweiler Lexus, we recently got a Pit Bull named Ace, he is now 10 wks old. We also have 2 cats Precious and Baby. I used to be a drug and bomb dog handler for the State Department in Wash. DC, but had to give that up b/c it was taking my life away, always travelling and never home to spend time w/ my family and pets. I'm a secretary now and am getting ready to take real estate classes in Jan. I guess thats about it

Hi, my name is Jen and I'm 30, I'm a stay at home mom of 3 kids - Molly - 10, Emily - 9, & Erick - 8. I've been married 11 years to my husband Dan and we have two dogs - Daisy - 3 yrs - black lab purebred who we bought from a reputable breeder in ND. She was the last pup from an off-season litter, and Fluke - 9 yrs - DoxiePoo who I found from a newspaper ad - they were going to put him down if they couldn't find a home for him. We also have 1 cat - Cooper - 6 yrs. who my husband (a telephone tech) found abandoned in a wheat field in ND and brought home. We recently moved to a very rural area of Montana and absolutely love the mountains! We're planning on raising chickens in the spring!

My name is Katie. I am 26, married, one step child, 2 canine kids and a horse. My dogs are labs. One yellow female named Greta 3.5 years and a black male named Jack. He is 6 months old. I train in obedience and hope to have Jack's CD by the end of summer. My dogs are also therapy dogs. We visit a local nursing home and a day care. My horse is from a local rescue and he is the light of my eye and my escape out of the house. We periodically get caught on a whim and end up with a bunch of barnyard animals but for the moment we have none.

Hi everyone!
GroomerD-you learned to groom when you were 10?? Wow! My boys are 12 & 8, both of them have shown interest in my work, particularly the oldest. My goal is to have a shop out of my house when we move to a bigger place (probably in 2005) He wants to work for me bathing after school & summers when I do this. I'm thinking maybe I should start showing him the ropes now!
JJ-I'm originally from MI & I am homesick, especially for the U.P.!
