Just wanted to introduce my little family to everyone. I have a almost one year old Rottweiler. The sweetest dog you'll ever meet and a 7 month old Siberian Husky. I helped rescue 11 animals from the house across the street and then adopted one. She's shy, only had her a week and we are learning!

Rocky is not pure rottie, he is mixed with a little boxer. He has a white patch (mark of a boxer) he also has a underbite (also boxer) and some white toes and he has a tail! But I love his tail. He acts just like a rottie but sometimes, he will box you I picked him up from a humane society. The first couple months of his life, he was left outside, but he's mine now! Here is his tail:

hi - welcome to the forum, lovely dogs. How refreshing to see a rottie/boxer with a tail! good to know not everyone out there who owns these breeds believes in mutilating their animals. Lou

Well...I did get him from the shelter....but it's not mutilating there tails when you do it at the apporate time. That appriate time is before they are 3 days old. After that, it's considered major surgery to have the tail removed. And, if done before 3 days old, the dog feels no pain. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Well, they now know that newborn babies can in fact feel pain. So they do appropriate pain treatments when performing those early surgerys. I would imagine, although I'm not sure that it's been "proven", that dogs feel pain too, no matter the age. The good thing about getting it done early is that they will recover faster. Therefore that means less pain.
